I'm remembering when I first read about putting hashes in asset names, e.g. 2084723984732-pack.js and thinking "Neat!”

Upon further reflection, is there any reason to do this other than avoiding figuring out how to invalidate your asset cache during a deploy?

When I deploy my personal website, I tell cloudfront to invalidate its cache of index.html and styles.css etc. and it seems to work all the time just fine.

What am I missing?
