OK, now WRT WebMIDI - I doubt it will ever be supported by Safari, because there is a pretty interesting securitiy exploit. Because it allows uploading SYSEX to whatever device you have connected, it can, in theory, allow a web page to take over a hardware device you have connected. And because SYSYEX is kinda like the assembler of MIDI, there's no real way to know what it does.
